Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Identify defects in solid materials using ultrasonic testing techniques.
  • Select, calibrate, or operate equipment used in the non-destructive testing (NDT) of products or materials.
  • Conduct liquid penetrant tests to locate surface cracks by coating objects with fluorescent dyes, cleaning excess penetrant, and applying developer.
  • Prepare reports of non-destructive testing (NDT) results.
  • Interpret the results of all methods of non-destructive testing (NDT) such as acoustic emission, electromagnetic, leak, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, neutron radiographic, radiographic, thermal or infrared, ultrasonic, vibration analysis, and visual testing.
  • Interpret or evaluate test results in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, or procedures.
  • Document non-destructive testing (NDT) methods, processes, or results.
  • Develop or use new non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as acoustic emission testing, leak testing, and thermal or infrared testing.
  • Supervise or direct the work of NDT Trainees or staff.
  • To remain current and aware of the most recent changes in the field of non-destructive testing.
  • To perform only those tests for which he is certified unless under the supervision of a qualified technician in the performance of the “On-The-Job Training”.

Required Skills

• NDT Technical training or certification from an accredited Nondestructive Testing School.

• Certified by the appropriate approving authority.

• CAA, FAA, or ICAO aircraft maintenance license and/or NDT specialist license (Preferred).

• Must able to read and interpret technical data, operating maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, safety rules, and perform complex mathematical computations.

• Must able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

• Must be fluent in English Language.

• Must be able to operate basic computer skills like Office Applications.

• Should possess mechanical aptitude and math skills.

• Physically fit, dependable and strong work ethics.

• Adaptable to changing schedules.
